Xeikon introduces Titon , a groundbreaking toner technology that bridges the gap between UV inkjet durability and toner-based safety and compliance . This new toner formula enables highly durable, food-safe, and sustainable printing — without the need for varnish or lamination.
🔍 What is Titon?
Titon toner offers:
· Heat resistance up to 260°C , ideal for heat sealing applications.
· Scratch, chemical, water, and light resistance— without coatings.
Odorless and tasteless formulation , critical for food packaging.
· Full compliance with food safety regulations , suitable for direct and indirect food contact.
🖨️ Applications & Models
Titon is already implemented in the Xeikon TX500 for flexible packaging (eg, pouches, wrappers for coffee, tea, confectionery). The newly launched Xeikon TX300 , designed for narrow web label printing , supports varnish-free printing on:
· Coated & uncoated papers
· Polypropylene facestocks
· Specialty papers for wine labels
Both TX500 and TX300 can be integrated in-line with Kurz embellishment units , enabling digital printing and finishing in a single pass with foil and metallic effects.
🌱 Sustainability & Productivity
Titon technology:
· Simplifies workflows by eliminating varnish/lamination steps.
· Reduces plastic and film usage , promoting recyclable paper substrates.
Minimizes waste and energy consumption , supporting sustainable production.
